Anderson Perry & Associates, Inc. (AP) is looking for a highly motivated project engineer to join our group of successful professionals who provide personalized engineering services to communities and clients throughout central and eastern Oregon and Washington. We are seeking to hire a project engineer who possesses sound engineering skills with interest in planning and developing transportation solutions for a variety of local/state governments or other privately held entities.
• Provide design engineering, including development of drawings and specifications for roadways, sidewalks, culverts, small bridges, etc. to be used by contractors or owners for construction improvements. • Provide project management for the design team. • Provide in-field technical assistance for construction, utilities coordination, and subconsultant management and coordination. • Coordinate environmental permits and clearances. • Coordinate with clients and contractors. • Prepare cost estimates and quantity take-offs. • Participate in public meetings. • Meet the financial goals for both the client and the company.
• 1 to 5 years of design experience developing roadway drawings and specifications. • Familiarity with Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and/or Washington Department of Transportation funding programs and procedures (preferred but not mandatory). • Experience completing “local agency” type roadway, sidewalk, and bridge projects. • A four-year engineering degree. • An Oregon Professional Engineer’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 1 to 3 years of employment. DESIRED SKILL AND EXPERIENCE • Public speaking skills with experience participating in meetings with clients, the public, and contractors. • Experience in developing and writing planning documents, work agreements, and task orders. • Project management experience including managing subconsultants. • Ability to lead, train, and motivate others and contribute to a team environment. • Experience in developing effective long-lasting relationships with clients, peers, and management. • Experience with scheduling, managing resources, reviewing, and timely deliverables.
