Anderson Perry Scholarship

Overview

Established in 1975, Anderson Perry & Associates, Inc. is a civil engineering firm based in eastern/central Oregon and Washington with 120 employees. Since the late 1980s, AP has offered scholarships to college bound high school students exceeding $200,000. In 2025, AP is offering four scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each to high school students in the eastern/central Oregon and eastern Washington area who will be attending a college or university to pursue an engineering or related degree.

The ideal candidate for this scholarship will be a graduating high school student who can:

  • Demonstrate the successful completion of high school or pre-college courses in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
  • Demonstrate plans and actions to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the career requirements for their chosen area of engineering interest.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work hard, work well with others, and be responsible.
  • Demonstrate success in high school academics (GPA, ACT/SAT score, awards, achievements, etc.)
  • Preference given to students who attend high school in eastern/central Oregon or eastern Washington.

Application Requirements

Before starting the online application, you will need to gather the following documentation:

  • Transcript – Please provide a copy of your current high school transcript. The transcript should clearly show grades earned in STEM-related classes.
  • Letters of Recommendation – Please provide three letters of recommendation:
    • School Official – From a teacher or other school official validating the student's interest in engineering.
    • Work Experience / Volunteer Letter – Please provide a letter from either a former employer or supervisor from a regular volunteer position you have held in the last year. The letter should verify your work ethic and reliability.
    • Other – Such as coaches, mentors, extracurricular club leaders, etc. attesting to the student's qualifications and engineering interest.
  • Interview – Finalists will be invited to a 30 minute interview with the selection committee. The Interview will be held using Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
